About Pilates
Pilates is a time efficient resistant total body conditioning program that provides a solid foundation and the body awareness that is focused on improving your daily activities and exercise practices. Pilates exercises promote core strength and stability, muscle control, and endurance, including exercises that stress proper posture and movement patterns and balanced flexibility and strength. Whether it’s sitting, walking, running, biking, hiking, skiing, climbing or racquet sports, Pilates conditioning will help your strength, balance, alignment, and focus.
OM+ Studio offers you the option of practicing in the studio or from the comfort of your home or office. All classes are offered via Zoom. Private sessions are offered via Zoom or at the Studio in lower Manhattan.

Pilates Mat involves performing exercises on the floor using a mat. These exercises are performed in a slow, controlled, precise manner and require concentration. These exercises help strengthen the body’s core by developing pelvic and shoulder stability, and abdominal control, using purposeful breathing patterns. The main fitness goals of Pilates Mat include improved strength, flexibility, muscle tone, balance, spinal support, back health, respiration, and body-mind awareness.
Pilates Mat can also include light weights, foam roller, stretch bands, the fitness circle, and Fletcher Towel.
Note: Mat Pilates can also be modified for the chair or bed with adaptations for your capabilities.

Mixed Levels
Find your alignment, gain awareness of your movement and breath with an exercise flow that activates your core and challenges the entire body. For beginners, intermediate and advanced, for those who are ready to take their practice to the next level with emphasis on proper form to help sculpt long, lean muscles.
Intermediate
This class builds on the strong foundation gained in Beginner Pilates mat sessions. It is designed for those that are ready to take their knowledge, strength and muscle control to the next level with emphasis on proper form to help sculpt long, lean muscles.
Advanced
This class is designed for those who have a strong knowledge base, developed proper strength, flexibility and looking for advanced variations. The class moves at a quick pace challenging one’s concentration, control, flexibility, strength, and endurance.
Group and private sessions for Pilates Machines & Equipment such as Reformer, Chair, Cadillac (Table), Ladder Barrel and Spine Corrector are available at the Studio or via Zoom provided client has the equipment.
Private classes are perfect for beginners or those with previous Pilates experience who want to learn or advance their practice on Pilates equipment. All private classes are taught by Michele.
